Papahānaumokuākea Inscribed as World Heritage Site
July 2010 - Hawaii's Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument has been inscribed as a World Heritage site at the World Heritage Committee meeting in Brasilia. This is the first U.S. site to be inscribed in fifteen years.

Everglades National Park on Heritage in Danger List
July 2010 - The Everglades National Park in Florida has been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Danger List. The park was first inscribed as a World Heritage site in 1979 due to the exceptional variety of its water habitats.
