The U.S. Mission represents the United States Government at the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Led by the U.S. Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, the U.S. Mission works to advance the President’s priorities, as well as his vision to promote human rights, tolerance and learning throughout the world. Our staff work with fellow Permanent Delegations and the UNESCO Secretariat on key policy initiatives in areas such as freedom of expression, education for girls and women, and science for development. We also facilitate public-private partnerships, support Goodwill Ambassadors from the United States, and work to deepen the relationship of U.S. National Commissioners to the Organization. The delegation of the U.S. Mission includes: the Deputy Chief of Mission; Political Chief; Public Affairs (Communication/Culture) Officer; Education Officer; Science Officer; Information Specialist; Cultural Affairs Specialist; Program Management Specialist and Protocol Assistant.
